Wireframing for web projects

Wireframes settle the structure and flows of a website before design and development use up budget.

Background

Wireframes are simplified sketches of a page, without colours, images or typefaces. Discussions then focus on content and flows rather than taste.

What wireframes clarify

  • Which page types exist and what each one contains.

  • Which tasks users complete on each page.

  • How navigation and forms work.

  • How content is arranged on mobile and desktop.

From wireframe to prototype

We create wireframes in Figma and, where needed, link them into a clickable prototype for early testing. Existing copy goes straight in and shows whether content and structure fit.

Approach

  1. Define the information architecture and key user paths.

  2. Sketch the main page types, starting with small screens.

  3. Discuss and test the drafts with your team.

  4. Once approved, build the visual design on top.
