Data dashboards and visualisations
A dashboard brings key figures from several systems into one place and updates them automatically. Decisions then rest on reliable numbers.
When a dashboard is worth building
A dashboard pays off when key figures sit in several systems and someone merges them by hand. Alongside internal dashboards, we also build reports for customers and partners, for example in a customer portal.
Data sources and timeliness
We connect databases, ERP, CRM, shop, web analytics and external APIs. Data is updated at fixed intervals or in real time via WebSockets. Every key figure is documented with its source and definition. Personal data is shown only in aggregate.
Visualisation
Chart types by message: trend, comparison, share, distribution
Libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js or Apache ECharts
Clear colour coding, labels and units
Accessible alternatives such as tables and text summaries
Interaction
Users filter by period, region or product and drill down into the details. Views can be saved and exported as CSV, Excel or PDF. If needed, the system raises an alert when a value crosses a threshold.
Approach
We start with the questions the dashboard should answer. A clickable draft with real data is used to agree the details. Every figure is checked against the source systems. Where a BI tool such as Power BI is the better choice, we say so.
