CDN integration for faster loading

A CDN serves content from locations close to your visitors and takes load off your server. Pages load faster, especially for visitors abroad.

What a CDN does

  • faster delivery of images, videos, scripts and entire pages

  • current protocols such as HTTP/2, HTTP/3 and TLS 1.3

  • image conversion to WebP or AVIF

  • protection against DDoS attacks and traffic spikes

  • an upstream web application firewall, if needed

A CDN pays off for international visitors, heavy media use or frequent traffic spikes. For a regional audience, a well-configured server with caching can be enough.

Data protection

A CDN processes visitors' IP addresses. This calls for a data processing agreement, checked server locations and an entry in the privacy policy. For providers outside the EU, we review the legal basis with your data protection officer.

Approach

Loading times and Core Web Vitals are measured first. We then set up the provider, for example Cloudflare or a European service, with cache rules, redirects and certificates. The switch runs via DNS without downtime.
